What children practise
Multiplication is a quick way to count equal groups. The first ruins section uses the two times table. The next sections introduce the three and four, then five and six, then seven to ten times tables. A final challenge draws from all of them.
Children can use skip counting or repeated addition when a fact is unfamiliar, then look for patterns as they replay.
Try a multiplication question
Think of two groups of four: 4 + 4 = 8. So 2 × 4 = 8.
Count five groups of three: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15. The answer is 15.
