Shape and position games for kids

Look closely at pictures to recognise shapes and 3D objects, then describe where a star sits beside a box in Shape Garden.

What children practise

Round Fountain introduces circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, and diamonds. Block Bridge adds ovals, pentagons, hexagons, parallelograms, and trapeziums. The shapes can appear in different colours and orientations, so the outline matters more than the colour.

Shape Trail shows pictures of spheres, cubes, cylinders, cones, pyramids, and rectangular prisms. Hiding Hedge asks children to choose above, below, beside, or inside. Garden Challenge mixes the earlier skills.

Try a shape question

A pentagon has five straight sides. Count each side once, starting at any corner.

A star is inside a box. Where is the star?

It is inside the box. Position words describe where one thing is compared with another.
